Memorial Day Weekend 2010

Thank you to all the men and women serving in our military. They keep us safe! They are the reason we are able to do what we do in this country. God Bless them all. A special THANK YOU and BLESSING to my son-in-law, Phillip. He is currently serving in Afghanistan.

We spent the afternoon/evening with friends on Sunday. Today, Memorial Day, I've taken the day to clean out closets and other areas of our home to make room for Brittany, Addie and Elena. They are currently in White Sands New Mexico where Phillip deployed from. They decided that Brittany and the girls should move back home. Possibly go ahead and look for a home. Phillip has decided that he is definitely getting out of the Army once this tour is up. He is due back in the states April of 2011. He can officially get out of the military the fall of 2011.

It is a dream come true for me to have both my daughters, their husbands and all of my grands close by.

The Goolsby's are Moving back Home to Tennessee

After much discussion and prayer, Brittany and Phillip have decided to move back home to Tennessee. Phillip decided that after his current tour to Afghanistan is over (April 2011) he will be getting out of the Army ("officially" (I think October of 2011).

Gary and I are traveling to White Sands, New Mexico to move Brittany, Addie and Elena home with us. Brittany and Phillip will be "house hunting" via inet. While he's deployed and while she's at home. Baby Goolsby #3 is due December 14th. Phillip is due home on R&R around Christmas time. He'll meet his new baby, boy or girl, we don't know yet.

Enjoy Memorial Day weekend!

Seaside, here the Starfish come.....

That time of year, time for the "annual Seaside Starfish" trip. We left May 12th and returned May 16th. As always, a wonderful time with wonderful friends. Here are some pictures

Mother's Day Weekend

I'm so very behind in posting. Work, church, bunco, making memories with our "grands," etc. I find that sometimes I have no time to sit and type up what's been going on.
I had a wonderful Mom's Day weekend. I spent Saturday at the park with Tara, Lola, Abe and Maggie. We had lots of fun. Lola brought her new bike she got from Pop and me for her 6th birthday. Abe also brought his bike, only to find the tire was flat (not a good thing). He was not happy at first, once we hit the playground he was fine. After playing at the party Tara took us to lunch. I got some really pretty gifts from Tara.
Brittany surprised me with a photo card with pics of her, Phillip, Addie and Elena. I LOVE it.
Here are a few pics of Mom's Day weekend.

The Beauty after the Floods

Took these pictures just a little while ago. It's been absolutely beautiful today. Great sunshine, a slight breeze and very little humidity. A beautiful Monday evening in Mount Juliet. My peonies are beginning to bloom......beautiful.

Rain = Floods + Birthday Party and more Rain = Floods

This weekend in middle Tennessee has been one like no other. Record breaking water fall, rivers rising, etc. We've experienced loss of lives, people have lost their homes and all of their belongings. The only inconvenience we (Gary and I) experienced was having to take detours just about everywhere we went.

We did enjoy our oldest granddaughter's 6th birthday party. Her Pop (Gary) bought Lola a new bike. She was so very excited. She called us later Saturday night to tell us that she was able to ride her new bike when they got home. She rode it in the home her dad is building for them. Too wet and still raining Saturday during her party.

Be safe!

Abe eating his cake like a cup cake and why not!?!?

Check out Maggie's eyes. She's loving the birthday cake and ice cream.

Lola opening her presents with Abe and Maggie looking and wondering! So sweet!

Now, for the flooding. I've never seen anything like the flooding we had Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday Morning Grins

In getting ready for church this morning, I reached in to turn the shower on. I smiled a great big smile when I had to "remove" the toys that were in the bathtub from where Abe and Maggie played in the tub while bathing. Love all of my grands to pieces....5 with 2 on the way = 7! I can't wait!
