ELIZA RUTH MCGUIRE has been born

I'm happy to announce that ELIZA RUTH MCGUIRE was born on June 27th at 1:00 a.m. (cst), 5 lbs. 13 oz., length?. She was born on her Gdad's 51st birthday. Mom, dad and Eliza are all doing wonderful. Eliza (Elizabeth is my mom and grandmother's name and Tara's step-mom) and Ruth (Ruthie is Jeffrey's moms name). Lola, Abe and Maggie will find out when they wake up in the morning that their baby sister has been born.

We're in NM with Brittany (our youngest), Addie and Elena helping pack, etc. to move them to TN. Phillip is currently deployed to Afghanistan. Brittany is due with her 3rd baby in December.

So, we're here helping Brittany and missed the birth of our 6th grand. If only I could be in two places at one time!!!!!

Craft Room 95% Complete....... I'm SO HAPPY

Well, finally the craft room/spare bedroom is painted, shelves hung and organized. My PB quilt and sham came in earlier than expected and I LOVE IT. It really looks nice with the "granny smith apple green" walls. The shelves my sweet husband built for me are PERFECT. The top two shelves hold toys for the "grands" that they have to ask for (safety reasons). The 4 trains and wooden gun are my husbands from when he was a little boy (loooong time ago :)~ The bottom 3 shelves hold my crafts. The floor underneath the last shelf was perfect to put some of the "grands" toys that they can play with at any time. Yes, keeping them away from the bottom two shelves may be a bit of a battle at the beginning, but I'm sure my two daughters and me will win.
My lovely daughter, Tara came over last Saturday and organized all of my paper for me. She did tell me that, "she hopes not to catch me purchasing more paper.....of any color!" I purchased one of the clear holders for my 12 x 12 paper just to see if it worked and if I would like it. I have to admit that I really like the pretty craft holder better, but this was a good price and works for what I need. Now, I have to purchase more (not sure how many) to move my paper from the box that it is still residing in to the clear paper holders.
LOVE my PB quilt and sham. All I need now are some sheets, pillowcases, throw pillows and curtains. Now that the walls are painted I get to hang all of the pics of my "girlfriends" and our gatherings (vacation, parties and bunco, etc.). So BLESSED to have so many great girlfriends. May even add mine and Gary's extended families pics on the wall....I'll have to wait and see.
Enjoy the pics of my new craft room. I do really love it and it's been a while in the making.
We leave tomorrow, Friday, 6/25 heading to NM. Will leave NM on Tuesday, June 29th driving with Brittany, our youngest daughter, Addie (2) and Elena (9 months) and yes their dog, Nyla. Phillip, our son-in-law is currently in Afghanistan and their 3rd baby is due in December. So, Brittany and girls are heading home to be with family.
If you think about it please say a prayer for safe travels. JESUS take the wheel!!!!

Granny Smith Apple Green Walls, Yes Walls

My sweet husband painted the craft/guest/toy room for my anniversary present AND built beautiful white shelves. Yes, 20 years we've been married (June 16th) and have known each other/been together for 25 years.

I've been wanting this room updated for a while. We'll be in our home 5 years the end of October. We've (mostly my husband) done lots of work, but work/updating still needs to be done.

I'll post pictures later, but I really LOVE the green walls and white shelves. The quilt and sham I ordered from Pottery Barn (they were on sale......I think) ships on June 24th. Once that comes in, I'll take the pillow sham around with me shopping trying to find window treatments. I really think I'll probably end up with white. Hang some pictures and other things that I've had for a while.
Stay tuned......

Abe's (grandson) Last Game of the Season

Well, little Abe has completed his first organized sports. Softball ended tonight with a loss in the last game before the "championship" game. Not sure of their "wins" and "losses," but I do know that Abe and all the other players had lots of fun playing and learned more about the sport. Here are some of the pics from tonight.

Abe's cheering squad. Lola (big sister), Maggie (little sister), Tara, Jeffrey, Mammaw and Pappaw.

Yes, that is Abe fielding the ball. He had a really good inning.

Arrington Winery, Arrington, TN

Had a great Friday night with my girlfriends and their spouses. Take your food, your drinks, free entertainment, and beautiful property to just sit back and enjoy. A very fun and relaxing evening. We missed Courtney and Roger.

June 5, 2010 Burt and Ashley McGuire's Wedding

Went to the wedding of Burt and Ashely (Burt is my son-in-law Jeffrey's brother). It was a very beautiful wedding, Ashely was a beautiful bride (loved her dress) and Burt a very handsome groom. The tux the guys wore were gorgeous. Music and food were both great. The McGuire Grands (Lola, Abe and Maggie) got in a lot of dance time with their cousins. So did Tara at 35 weeks pregnant (crazy daughter of mime)! Oh, I never got a picture of the groom Burt.......
